Lots of great ideas in this article--especially the suggestions to draw upon and engage local and global resources.  I am using a program called GreenMaps.org to encourage postsecondary as well as high school students to share the resources they most value in their neighborhoods.  Student events and chosen locations are then published in the GreenMap global community.  You can find out more about this resources at GreenMaps.org.  You can see what projects our students and volunteers have mapped thus far at http://www.greenmap.org/greenhouse/en/node/7349
